I want to get a job with future advancement over the summers that involves lifting 25-50 pound boxes all day. I would like to practice by endurance training the muscles that are used in lifting things. I will also be carrying a 10 pound bin filled with stuff around my basement and work from 20 to 100 stops a day. Any other idea would be appreciated but I would like to know all muscles involved in lifting and carrying moderately heavy boxes. :D thank you

A lot of muscles . Abdomen , back muscles , trapezius , biceps and triceps , and deltoids and of course your thigh muscles .

You dont need to know the individual ones if you just practice carrying WEIGHTS around . Its a simulation of your work and it will make you prepared for it .

You need the back muscles latissimus and longissimus dorsi to LIFT it .
The rectus abdominus balances your trunk as it is bent backwards and prevents your ribcage from folding forward .

You need the trapezius and deltoid for additional lift and the biceps to keep it in front of you . The triceps balances the biceps .

You need your thigh muscles to move around .

Carrying is a fundamental activity of the motor system , like walking and running . You need whole MUSCLE GROUPS for it .

A warehouse may be a choice-(you would have loved working at my job today, Cosco rejected an order that was delivered to them cause of the kind of wooden pallets the boxes were on, & all strapped to, it was 40 pallets with four 100 pound+ boxes on each, (160 boxes total) it took 2 guys; me & someone else to carry each box to another pallet, restrap them, & 8 hrs -I'm sore from it!!! - & if I was to do this daily, I couldn't handle it.)
