My question is that can I claim part of my utilities like hydro, gas and water bills from revenue canada. Please answere my question. thanks.

Your Question is not clear.

But if you own a property in Canada and you rent out part of it, you can claim the proportion of the property that you rent out against income made by the rental.

So if 1/2 of the property was rented out, you could deduct from the rental income on your taxform, 1/2 of property taxes, 1/2 of utilities payed by you (not the tennant) and any maintenance to keep the rental part rented.

Yes, you can claim rent on your taxes if you live in a province that allows the credit (eg, Ontario, Manitoba). But remember, if you claim the expense, the friend has to claim the income. Make sure you're all on the same page regarding what's being claimed.
