North Korea has nuclear weapons and it is definitely a threat to the freedom of the Americans.

North Korea isn't a direct threat to the US, but they are a significant threat to South Korea and Japan, which are both very close economic, military and political allies. That drunkard of a dictator they have is sober enough to know that attacking US soil would be signing his death warrant. Even with Chinese, support, they wouldn't make it very far because it has been confirmed that our Air Force alone could wipe out both North Koreas' and China's entire ground and air force within a week, and by that time, China would probably have backed out to save face.
You're right though, when you say that a lot (MOST) people do not understand the kind of threats that are out there.
And about the scared thing, no. The US has far worse threats than North Korea. Iran for instance, has a functioning nuclear program and I will lay money down that they'll try selling them to terrorists. If Obama or Clinton take office, screw over our security and defenses like Bill did, then al-Queda would have an easy shot at planting such a munition in say... New York.

What are they going to do, march down the streets of Washington DC? The crazy militaristic culture of poorly run countries isn't a threat to the freedom of anyone but themselves.

koreans can face reality, they know that if they threated US or any country with nukes it would pretty much be them and a few other countries(china, pakistan, etc...) against a big number of countries with the US( like Canada, Britain, Australia, Ireland, Poland, Danemark, France, alot more, etc...)
