What would the cfms be if a 12x12 piece of duct was blowing 2000 fpms?

The duct cross sectional area is = 1 square foot
The duct cross sectional area in square feet, times the flow rate in feet per minute = flow volume in cubic feet per minute.

In your case the flow rate = 1 square foot*2000 feet per minute = 2000 cubic feet per minute.

Just a note to the other answer the result of the combination of cross sectional area and feet per minute(velocity) is in my engineering business called the AC FM . that's actual cubic feet per minute...the other answer is dead on ,,,,from the E
