If not, why do Americans worship the U.S. flag? Why are Christians often at the forefront of trying to make it a holy relic (with their CONSTANT attempts to pass flag desecration laws)

and that silly pledge in the form of a prayer? to what? a freakin' flag?

isn't this what they call idol worship?

The entire congregation must fast for 30 days if a Torah scroll touches the ground.

I don't think anyone worships the flag, but many of us have the highest respect for what it stand for! Many of our ancestors found asylum here in this country. God bless the USA.

i'm a proud veteran and a Christian. i VOLUNTARILY salute the flag, and i must confess that 'the star-spangled banner' gives me goose bumps. but i see the flag as a symbol of my country and those who served before me and those who serve today...i don't worship the flag...and i don't believe in 'holy' objects

as for flag desecration legislation, i believe that there are far more pressing issues to deal with. people who burn the flag are, in my opinion, idiots, and beneath my contempt...but i don't think legislation is the answer...i can't agree with limiting freedom in the name of a SYMBOL of freedom...

I've never heard of Christians raising a fuss over flag desecration. I don't care if a flag touches the ground, nor if a Bible does. God made the ground.
