Give them a day or so, they sound like they were traumatized by the boarding. If they keep fighting each other separate them for a while so they can both calm down. It sounds as if they were in a a cage together and being forced to be that close for that long didn't sit well. They are mad at you so don't force attention on them, let them have their space and time and every thing should be alright. I am assuming that you have checked both of them for any signs of a physical problem. I know of one place where they tried to get cats from different families to play together and the cats went home with cuts and scratches you couldn't see with out looking. Check them over again in a couple days because if there are little wounds they have a tendency to abscess on cats. A couple treats may go a long way in being forgiven.

I have had cats all of my life. They hated the fact that you left them there and will be pissy with you for a few days. Talk to them when you get home, give them so tuna. If they don't seem right after 2-3days, they could have caught a cat virus of some sort that would make them act aggressively. Call the vet at that point and see if any of the other animals are/were ill.

it is the smell! cats identify each other, you and their surroundings by smell. if there is a strange smell...they tend to freak out for a bit.
i have 4 cats and when any one of them go to the Vet...one of my others automatically hisses and fights the one that has been at the vet.
this is natural...and will pass within a day or wo.
good luck :)

Give them time to get over it. Just like people animals hate going to the vet, groomers etc.
My dog shakes like crazy when he goes to the vet. He sometimes wets in the house after and acts up.
They do have a soul and a brain and really do know what is going on.
Give them plenty of love and don't stop taking them to the vet.

They're acting out because they're unnerved. I'm sure they'll be much better once they're home and settled.
Also the vet smell is upsetting to them, and they're all still smelling like the vet.
There are products like Feliway and Rescue Remedy that should calm them down. You might get some until they're feeling stable again. You can also put a drop of valerian in their water bowl. That should also calm them down.
Good luck.

when we leave for an extended visit out of town, i get a friend to come over and spend time with our cat, so she doesn't have to have the added stress of being boarded out. they miss us i think when we leave like that and taking them to a strange place just adds to the stress, so they may be a little mad at you.
the people who look after our cat come over a couple of times a day and check on her and feed her and spend some lap time with her...she is a very social cat and likes most of our friends and they like her so it is no problem.

Put each one in a different room and let them calm down. It's stressful to be boarded at the vet, dogs bark there, noises are strange and they smell medicine. A few hours at home and they'll be ok.

Nothing just spent time with them and try to discipline them. Are these kittens or big cats? Big cats will be difficult to manage and tame and especially if they have never been in a human company. Otherwise it should not be difficult to get them friendly.

Cats are very territorial. Bringing them to another place upsets their "place" in the world. Make sure to bring them home and make them feel very secure. You may need to keep them in a certain area of the house so they can re-familiarize themselves with HOME.

Your cats are stressed out at the moment. When they settle back into their routine, all will be well again. To their point of view, you abandoned them, but they'll get over it.
