8 glasses is the ideal minimum right? the more the merrier? :) well water is the most essential non-gas substance the body needs, it is required in all the functions of the body, for one, the blood in 97% water, it transports oxygen, nutrients, hormones, electrolytes, etc etc etc to the different cells in the body. And to think about it, around 62% of your body is water, just imagine what your body would be like without it :)

The best way to determine how much water your own body needs is to take your weight number and divide it by two.
For example: 150 divide by 2 is 75. That is the amount of ounces your body needs. 75 ounces. But do it with your own weight. Drinking enough water will help flush your system and keep the toxins and waste in your stomach loose and easier to remove from your body. Your body is made of up to 80% of water. Every inch of your body relies on water to function properly. If you do not give it water, it will not perform at top notch.

It depends on if you eat a lot of dry and salty food or wet food like fruit. Drink when thirsty. You could also drink green tea which is mostly water. The Chinese are thin and never, ever drink water. At a Chinese restaurant water and tea are free. Unsweetened tea has almost no calories but lots of nutrients. My website has a link to a fruitarian bodybuilder who has not drank any fluids in over year. He eats juicy fruit.
