Without fail in school, every year we'd do the President's Physical Fitness test...and every year we'd have to run a mile. I was never involved in sports (I always did art and music as after school activities) yet my gym teachers always assumed that having not run since the last fitness test, I'd be able to complete a full mile.

Should the average person be able to run a full mile? Or is it something that you sort of have to work up to?? By full mile, I mean run the entire mile without stopping.

**As I said, someone that NEVER runs, RUN a full mile, not stopping to walk in between, not jogging, run a mile.

No. Not at all. Someone like you who doesnt train at all could possibly run a full mile IF it was a life or death situation. But it would really stress and possibly injure your body. Trust me, its something you have to work up to.

Run, but not a full speed. Most people should be able to jog a full mile
