I just bought an 07 Tacoma, but not before weighing the usual Nissan versus Toyota. I love my new truck. But I must say I was really impressed with the Nissan. The two trucks are so close it really comes down to personal preference. While the Nissan has a little more power, the Toyota is MORE than adequate. The crash test ratings are better for Toyota, by far, and that's important to me because i crashed my last truck. Toyota stops a little quicker too, but what made my mind was the seat in the Nissan. It wasn't comfortable to me. That and I couldn't find the oil filter. Toyota's is right up front mounted remotely. For my needs the Tacoma was a better choice but you can't go wrong with either. Just stay away from Ford and Dodge!!

I'm actually in the market for a smaller sized 4 door pickup and all fingers are pointing at the Frontier. It is actually more reliable than the Toyota Tacoma in the last couple years of reports. It also has been proven to be a strong truck when it comes to towing, offroading, and general beatings in 3rd party tests. I test drove one and loved the position you have when you sit in it. Very ergonomical and easy to see all around you, no blind spots and it drove like you were on air. Make sure you get the luggage rack on top as it adds a lot to that truck to make it look better. A good site would be youtube.com and type in Toyota Tacoma vs Nissan frontier. Also at google.com type in reliability and performance reports for nissan frontier.
