my mom is Sunday Worshiper,thats how i know.she doesnt know the reason for alot of the teachings,she just knows the teachings.im not of iether of those religions,im SDA(Seventh Day Adventist),thats why i dont know.
gotta ask; if thats true as she says then,what kind of teaching is that?!what kind of Christian teaches their part of the flock to stay away from another part of the flock??that sounds stupid 2 me.i dont think it matters WHAT religion a person is,the point is they believe in & love God.what more could possibly matter?
is it because they dont believe in celebrating anything?
because they dont believe that God is a Trinity?
because they dont believe that Mary was a virgin?
because they go door-2-door?
what do u have against them?my mom thinks that other Sunday Worshipers would think shes crazy 4 having JW's @ her house every wednesday BECAUSE of how she was raised.(she had them over bcuz she was curious 2 know their beliefs,& now that shes familiar ...........

People are taught (or should be taught) to stay away from jehovah's witnesses because they deny that Jesus is Lord and part of the God head. They teach false doctrines and as Christians, we are to avoid those who teach lies.
John 10:30 - "I and the Father are one"
John 14:6 - Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
To believe that Mary was not a virgin, or that Jesus is not God is to not believe what the Bible teaches. It is heresy.
My friend, the Bible is God's word and since it is so, it is true. Since jw's and sda's teach things that contradict God's Word, they are false religions. Jesus was who He said He was. Trust Him and study His word.

1st off; What is a "Sunday Worshiper?"
I've not heard this term before.
I have heard of a sunday Christian;
is it the same?
Rather difficult to answer, the entire Q
when I don't know what ur referring to, agree?
We* do commemorate, annually
the death & resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Plus, Baptism is a joyous occasion,
weddings, the anniversaries there of.
(some ppl do, some ppl don't);
graduations, baby showers,
the birth of a new child in the family,
is another joyous occasion,
it's wholesome funtions we look to attend.
Bar-B-Q's r always Yummy~O~ ;~P
True, we do not believe in the trinity;
as it is Not a Biblical teaching, it is a Lie.
From what I've learned right here @ Y/A's
neither do SDA's, Unitarians, or Muslims.
All these faiths, are Monotheist.
If it is not true, that SDA's do believe in the trinity,
you can let me know.
We do believe Mary was a virgin,
at the time the holy spirit came over her,
and the life of Jesus was placed into her womb.
That she stayed a virgin until after the birth of Jesus, yes.
But, not that she stayed a virgin for forevermore,
Jesus had at least 4 brothers & a minumum of 2 sister's.
*The Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Edit:
Your mom needs to speak up, boldlessly.
Although I can say,
that regardless of the Christian denomanation;
ppl are told to stay away from other faiths,
so as to not subvert your current faith.
{remember, Satan is the root of not wanting you
or any1 else to know Jehovah}
God told His chosen ppl,
to stay away from all the pagan,
heathen & gentile nations;
so that their worship would not become polluted.
In general; that is where it comes from.
Christendom, tells the members of their flock to stay away from Jehovah's Christian Witnesses,
out of fear of learning the truth, about God's word.
The foremost point being, we don't accept the trinity teaching.
While the majority of Christendom, does.
We believe Jesus is the unique Son of God Almighty.
The only begotten-god. Not his own God & Father.
After that, it's misguided information...mostly.
Sometimes, it's outlandish ridiculous lies.

Hi there, I'm glad you don't just listen to some other people when they say bad things against the Jehovahs Witnesses. You should listen to them yourself, you'll learn a lot more that way.
Jehovahs Witnesses are mainly disliked simply because it's an inconvenience having people knocking at your door...they get "bugged" by it. Some people feel it's rude to push your beliefs on others (but Jehovahs Witnesses are following the bible; the bible says that if someone doesn't warn someone else of danger, they will be blood guilty. Plus the Jehovahs Witnesses want others to share in the great hope the bible talks about). Still, others will spread lies about them to make their own faith seem better, a bit like bullies really. And others who dislike Jehovahs Witnesses are bitter ex Jehovahs Witnesses who feel they are right and the Jehovahs Witnesses are wrong.
Your mum is going to have to be frank and maybe even quite blunt if she wants the Jehovahs Witnesses to know she's not interested. the Jehovahs Witnesses see every opportunity to "save" people. They are not going to give up easily when lives are "at risk".
I hope things work out anyway! :)

I applaud your mother for taking the time to study the bible with Jehovah's Witnesses. It would be nice if more learned what we believe that way, instead of listening to bigotted comments from others who have no idea what we really believe.
Your mother should not let fear of man keep her from saying what she wants, whether it be to tell her friends that she is studying or to tell the Witnesses that she no longer wants to study.
One correction, we do believe that Mary was a virgin when Jesus was conceived, but we do not believe she remained a virgin as some teach. The bible mentions that Jesus had brothers and sisters.
Yes, we do not celebrate holidays that have pagan origins, but we do celebrate weddings, anniversaries, graduations etc...
Yes, we do not believe that God is a trinity. We believe that Jehovah is the Almighty God, Jesus is his only begotten Son and the Holy Spirit is God's active force that he uses to accomplish his will.
I would recommend that you sit in on your mothers study sometime, or have one of your own. Then you can discuss what you are learning and see if you agree if that is what is taught in the bible.
John 17:3 "This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you the only true God, and the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ."
We each individually need to study the bible for ourselves and come to an accurate knowledge of what God requires of us to gain that everlasting life.

If one follows Christ ( a Christian) then it does matter. We are instructed to teach no other gospel than that of Jesus Christ. It you follow His teachings then you will hold certain doctrines to be absolute. The SDA stray from the gospel taught by Jesus and the disciples in numerous ways, some of which you named. Every Christian subscribes to some basic doctrinal truths (even though they belong to different denominations) and these doctrines are the backbone of the Christian faith. The little issues where we differ aren't ground shakingly important as far as God, The Trinity, Christ's death, burial, resurrection, and ascension into heaven, the only Way to heaven, heaven and hell, the final Judgment........these are basic to our belief. The SDA is not Christian, not protestant.......it is simply recognized by main stream faiths as a cult. Perhaps you would understand better if you studied your church's Statement of Faith and then studied what signifies a cult. I'm sure your pastor or some other Christian you trust would help you see the difference. May God help you understand that He is very specific about what He requires in His children......their beliefs, their worship, their behavior, etc. God has absolute power, He is absolutely just and fair, He has absolute truths to teach us, His Word is absolute truth. Go to His Word for clarity and instruction.

Well, to try to answer your Q, I would have to say that the biggest reason for this is because many people are misguided due to rumors, misinformation and/or misconception. I think Bambi pretty much summed it up, but just to add that the NWT is considered by many bible scholars to be one of the most ACCURATE translations of God's holy word today. It IS NOT a bastardized version as one poster suggested.
For those who REALLY want to know what we believe, go to a Kingdom Hall, ask for a bible study ( I promise, we won't bite) or visit the official website of Jehovah's Witnesses to get your info "straight from the horse's mouth" so to speak.
Hope this helps. Agape

I would listen more closely to what people say about Jehovah's Witnesses if they didn't resort to falsehoods and theological bias in their posts.
Some of this stuff is just plain silly and just piles of inaccuracy. It makes one wonder about the strength of an argument that has to be built on misrepresentation and name-calling.

I don't. If JH's come to my door, I invite them in. All I ask is that if I take the time to hear them out, that they allow me the same courtesy. Some will do that, others will not.
