LOL! We do animal rescue and just got in our first Pug mix ever. Her snoring and snorting was kind of troubling at first! I asked a few Pug knowledgeable people and a vet and was assured that it's normal.
The short snout that makes them so cute, also lends to snoring and snorting....If I could only think of an excuse for the gas! :)

Oh, they are sooooo precious!! I grew up with pugs and just loved them. They also snored and passed gas, must be in the breed. The snoring makes sense with the short nose and wrinkled snout.
Maybe the gas is from the food they are eating. I feed Iams small breed adult dog food and get along great with my small dog. No fumes arise from it!!
The vet should be able to confirm or suggest something else to help both you and them.(They probably aren't comfortable either if gas pains are present)
Hope this helps, good luck!

pugs snore loudly because of a soft pallet (and of course the short smashed in faces) which can also cause alot of problems but as long as they are just snoring loudly that will be alright, they can also have "breathing attacks" which are kinda like asthma attacks or anxiety attacks what i do for mine just in case it may happen to you is lift their head and rub their neck , it calms them down and helps them breath better. oh by the way i have 3 that keep me up most nights lol but i love them to death. and about the gas omg my older one sounds like an old man passing gas (sooo funny) but if you would like to do something about that you could feed them a higher quality food or they have tablets for that at pets supply plus or petsmart which ever you have close to you. enjoy your pug and good luck with every thing.

Because they are PUGS!!! Take them to the vet for a consultation for a breathing disorder. We are able to surgically relieve an unclear nasal passage and a long- soft palate.

Aww. I have a pug as well. Mine does the same. I'd say it's normal due to their nose and the way pugs were made.

I can only assume it is the way that their noses are built. I have a Shih Tzu that has a stubby nose and he snores too.

Because they have faces that are not normal. Only through selective breeding were we able to breed dogs that have pushed in faces. That causes the snoring.

It's because of their short snout. My Boston Terrier could wake the dead , by snoring ! LOL!
