well you are sore because when you exercise your muscles kind of break up and form again but bigger. if you do excersises like every month or so or for a really long time apart and then you do excersises for a really long time in one day. For your body that is way too much excersise for just one day. What i recomend is take a tablet, advil, or some pain reliever (read the directions of the tablets please) and then put some ice covered in a towel or paper. that should make the pain go away or at least make you feel better. Also dont do more excersice when you are sore because it's going to make it worse. instead do excersises for like 30 minutes or until you get tired everyday and shower with warm water after that so you don't have sore muscles the next day.

same thing happens when i work out. not exactly sure, but it seems like it takes about 24hrs for the (lactic?) acid to fully kick in (the stuff that makes you sore.)
what you need to do is stretch pretty well, maybe massage whatever is sore a bit (get the blood going to it), make sure youre hydrated & maybe have an advil (up blood circulation & supposedly take care of pain.)
=D ive been in the same position. its no fun.
good luck ^^

The only things that work for me hot soaking bathes, sometimes you use Epsom's salt. It will take the soreness from a puncture to sore muscles.

Well, the day after working out you are somewhat sore, but you are most sore 2 days after working out. Usually the 3rd day you are back to normal, unless you hurt something or you work out again.

It can take a few days for your muscles to heal themselves after a workout. Much depends upon your habitual level of activity, age, and immune system.

Stretch your muscles slowly and get warmed up lightly by jogging. Advil helps.
