Probably not if you cry, but if you go swimming with them in you can pretty much count on trouble. Either they'll wash right out of your eye, or else the chlorine will make them stick to your cornea. Not a good thing either way.

If you go for a swim, your lenses will actually become "glued" to your eyes and are difficult and painful to remove. That's what fresh water does when it gets into your contacts. I've had it happen to me when pool water leaked into some goggles I was wearing. As for crying, yes they could slide out but you're more likely to lose them if you rub or wipe your eyes while crying.

A friend of mine always swims with her contacts on. She is 26 and had been doing this for years. She even opens her eyes under water and has never lost one. I personally think she is a bit crazy and have never gotten up the courage to try it because contacts are not cheap and I don't want to have to pay twice just for trying something that sounds stupid.

if you swim with your eyes open..yes..crying not..unless its too hard
