Zoloft takes awhile to work. Sometimes over a month. And even then it only takes the edge off. It is not a "cure all". Still, anytime you feel a medication isn't working the way you think it should, you need to discuss it with your doctor. I wouldn't push for taking the seoquel unless absolutely necessary. Of course, if the doctor feels you need it, that is a different story.

It takes about two weeks for the Zoloft to reach therapeutic levels in your system. Do not start taking extra pills or a different medication without the direct advice of your doctor.

A friend of mine decided her Zoloft wasn't working quickly enough and took more than the recommended dosage - she ended up having an anxiety crisis and almost ended up in the hospital. It took her a month to finally get to the point where she really felt her anxiety was under control.

Wait it out - you'll feel better soon. And keep in touch with your doctor - do not self medicate!

Good luck!

Once a Dr. prescribed Zoloft to me, but after 2 days of taking it I found my anxiety steadily increasing. (Panic attacks etc.)Please see your doctor again. Zoloft may not be the right medication for you.

How long have you been taking the Zoloft?

If it is a new script, it could take up to six weeks for the medication to enter into your system and take effect.

If it is a pre-exisiting script, how long have you been taking it? If you have been taking it for awhile, you might need to adjust the dosages.

Please, address this concern with your prescribing physician before you play pharmacist with yourself.

dont do anythng on your own because there can be serious medical complications if yuou do...speak to your doctor, explain that you are still getting anxiety, he/she may want to try a differnt medicine, a different mixture of medicines, add to your dosage, add another med, i dont know, but speak to them before you do anything. they will guide you inthe right direction. i suffer from anxiety as well, my doc increased my dosage and put me on a new med...but your doc who knows you and your medical history and your current problems is the only person who is to make that decision. do not take this into your own hands.

You should talk with the Dr. who is doing the prescribing. Here is a site to look up and understand more on the meds. and whatever else you want to know.
