I'm set to graduate in 2011 and I am a the Navy option. I was wondering what my chances are of going to cambat with the Marines or just be stationed on a base or ship.

too soon to tell, you will still have to rotate at a base hospital first.. it may or may not be on a Marine Base.

besides, Nurses do not see combat at all. only FMF HMs do. you might be assigned to a combat triage unit/station, but you will not be patrolling.

May as well use the old "8-Ball" to answer a question like that. The needs of the Navy will determine your assignment just like anyone else's. 2011 is 4 years away and lots of things will change in that time. Don't worry about that first assignment until you're done with the program.

As a Nurse Corps officer you could be assigned to a medical battalion, a surgical unit, a fleet hospital or a hospital ship. The first two are ground units in close proximity to infantry units engaging the enemy. But, since this was is not one of mass troops moving to contact with other masses of troops you will be pretty much out of the combat arena.

You will be a Navy nurse.

Nurses don't go into combat with marines.

You will probally end up in Iraq as a Nurse at a medical facility.

Just because your male, won't change your job.

the navy rotc program isnt for marines its marine rotc (MROTC) and its just like marine boot camp just not as intence
