Was it business, or personal, that Teresa did not let Junior take #8 with him?

Totally personal.

She has made some very bad decisions regarding the team, in my opinion. This is the biggest one. She doesn't want to believe that Jr. is the reason that team is doing as well as it has. She will find out soon enough that he had a much bigger impact than anyone realizes.

Nascar owns the numbers, but each team has certain rights to those numbers. The number 3 will probably never see the track again with respects to Sr. and Richard Childress. DEI has the rights to the number 8, and in her stubbornness she won't let it go. I guess it is her way of telling Jr. to take a flying leap....

Jr. will run the number 88 next year as a result of a very classy move by owner Robert Yates. He gave up his rights to that number so Jr. could use it. Yates knew that Ralph Earnhardt had that number at one time, and Jr. has it in another series. My hat is off to Yates.

I won't wish bad luck on DEI, because of their fine stable of drivers. It isn't their fault the manager of the company is an idiot!

I just want to see Jr. get to the top, and be there for a while. Hendrick will be able to provide Jr. with top quality stuff, and a wealth of knowledge. Let's just see what hapens next........

GO FAST, TURN LEFT!!!!!!!!!!!

Both--He wanted 51% of the company that his dad left Teresa. So she took it personally and wouldnt let him take the #8 with him so this is the business end as well. I have my own opinion but why would Jr. want 51% of what Teresa Earnhardt had??? In my experience with family and friends and so forth When people are married and they make out a WILL they will leave a few personal items or keepsakes to their kids but leave the remaining surviving spouse 100% of the estate to live on. ----- Then when the remaining Mom or Dad dies that same estate if any remains is split between the surviving Children usually equally This happens wheits a 1st or 2nd marriage--step children or natural kids in my dealings with things of this nature. I dont know any millionaires but Im not wet behind the ears either 49 years old and have seen this happen countless times.

Probably a little of both, there's a lot of bad blood between Theresa and Jr, and Jr was probably getting tired of watching her run the business his daddy built into the ground, Jr, being his fathers son was probably pretty vocal about his opinions about the way she was running things, and she probably wouldn't play nice because of it.

I believe it is very personal, she's an ugly crow face jealous witch, and she knows she gonna miss that big check from Budweiser she had a chance to make it all good with Jr. she chose to be the way she is, Jr made the #8 all by himself, so why should she be able to take it away from him, so I stand by opinion, It's PERSONAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DEI ownes the #8, since Dale Jr. is moving, he will not be able to take his famed #8 with him. The two teams were in talks about buying the #8 for Dale Jr. to use, but no agreement was made as of yet. Looks like Jr. will be running #88 next year......

This is going to make DEI look bad, and they are going to lose a ton of fans over it too.......

Why yes I do. He is so much like his Dad, Dale Sr. There are alot of driving techniques given to him by his Dad, before he passed away. This year will be better I hope.

No numbers in NASCAR are retired, not even the legendary 3. It was a personal thing, i think, because Junior and Teresa do not get along at all. Besides, why should she let him have it ? He made the number famous at HER company.....

:-o

I think it was personal, Sr. started that company for Jr. NOT for Theresa, she was supposed to hold it in stewardship for him, not edge him out. Sr. is turning over in his grave.
