I'm planning on becoming a doctor myself. Residency sure is brutal and not to mention hard and pressuring, however, that's to be expected when dozens of lives are at stake every minute. The hours are pretty long too [but if you get your own clinic you get more time off]. Not to mention the calls you receive from psychotic/troubled patients after hours. I have to admit that it will be a very difficult road, but with the amount of money I'll be making I can still switch careers or just work for 5-10 years straight, invest the money and live off the investment with my fiance/[soon to become husband] lol.

No, residency is brutal, long and low paying. Become a Physicians Assistant instead. You can make $90k a year and it won't take as long or cost as much.
