I had to watch the replay of Jeff Gordons win at Talladega about five times, to figure out how he won the race. I gotta admit, the way he took that win made everyone else look like rookies.

He is a very smart-gutsy-patient- talented driver with years of racing experience. He started out in go karts-quarter midgets-midgets-sprint cars and has drove Craftsman Truck series as well. Been in Nascar since1993--was in Busch series 1992. He has drove on dirt-asphalt-concrete and excelled at all levels. Plus his Hendrick team is the best in Nascar!!!

He's a great driver with great equipment. But I find it funny that nobody has mentioned his crew yet.

Ray Evernham, Robbie Loomis, and Steve Letarte are three of the greatest crewchiefs ever. Not to mention the other members of his pit crew. Back when Gordon was ripping out 13 wins in a season, his pit crew was also ripping out 13 second pit stops on a regulare basis.

Combine a great driver with great equipment and a great crew and you'll see many races won. But I must say out of the three that it's his driving skills that are the best. Anybody who watched the Eldora dirt track race this year could see how quickly he adapts to any situation.

Plain and simple: he is very smart and a great driver. He has been on the track with some of the best drivers ever. Obviously he pays attention and learns from experience. He has a great team and they work well together. And one of the best things that he has is HEART. Did you see how excited he was after his win at 'Dega? It sure didn't look like ha has visited the winners circle 80 times, does it. THAT is why he wins so much.

Jeff wins because he is a good driver and because he has a good crew chief, and the two of them together makes a very good team.

He does have great equipment, but I think the reason he's so good is because he's been racing since he was 5 years old.

He has it all. He's got the driving talent, the best team in the business at HMS (with apologies to Gibbs, Roush and Childress), always great crew chiefs and crews.

Smart racing. Sat in the back until it was time to shine. Steve Latarte told him to get up there and he said to wait few more laps. He will win at least 2 more before this seasons over. Im never wrong.
