i think i should get a cavilier king charles spaniel, because they are dogs that can sit on your lap, and walk very elegantly. they are the perfect size.
BUT
they have a mind of their own, and have tendancy to bolt across streets. call me crazy, but i dont want to find my dog on the road in a puddle of blood.
you can see the size im going or, can you give me some tips about this breed or some other breed that has the same good qualities?

get a pup from the pound. mixed smaller breed already fixed with shots. they make great pets and YOU will have saved a mutts life!

Purchasing a puppy is a big step. It comes with huge responsibility. The breed depends on the type of person you are. If you want a very frisky, smart dog, get a Spaniel. I have a toy poodle. I rescued him from the local humane society. He is very independent, and smart, and loves hugs and kisses. He is a true lap dog. He was the choice for me because of his coat. He has short kinky hair that does not collect dandruff. This eliminates the sneezing and runny eyes from allergies.
I hope you have a great time shopping for your new baby. They are really worth while!

HUH? If a dog isn't let to run, or isn't out without a leash, it cannot possibly be bolting across the street.. You have to keep a dog in your yard, or house or on a leash, to keep ANY breed of dog off the street...

my friend just got a cocker spaniel... its one of the cutest puppies i've ever seen. It's redish brown and real friendly. I never realized how cute they were untill i saw one for myself. Just be careful... it gets so excited when it meets people that it pees all over the place. I heard alot of spaniels do that.

Go to the pound and save a mutt. They are smart. They live healthier longer, and you will save a friend for life.

full blooded jack russel.
they are VERY hyper,but intelligant and loveable.
if yu want a more calm dog.
try a lab.
they are intelligent.playful.loveable.and protective over its family.
