The father of our child. My ex was on the phone with 911, because I was going into labor and I had given birth just as the Ambulance personnel came in my front door. It was a very fast delivery. I delivered at home, there was no time to rush to the hospital. I gave birth on my bed, with towels all over and a blanket, my son was crowning and wanted OUT. My son was born at 3:45am Sunday Morning.

The hospital staff would only allow 2 people other than the father, otherwise I would have had 30 of my closest friends and relatives!

In the room with me was daddy, his mother (my mother-in-law) and my stepfather. My mom waited in the hall. Sounds strange, but it was my MIL's first grandbaby, and my stepdad is a paramedic so I requested he be in the room instead of my mom to keep an eye on the doctors!

No family or friends were in the hospital room because I had c-sections 30 years ago. Although this last June I was right there when my grandaughter was born. It was the first real birth I had ever seen. My daughter-in-law was gracious enough to let me be in the labor room. My son, her Mother and myself were there with the attending doctor and nurses. It was the most beautiful thing I ever witnessed.

My close friend who acted as a birth coach and moral support, my husband, the mid wife, a nurse, and my mother in law who showed up without knowing I was still in labor.

I hadnt wanted her there originally, but once she was there I was pushing and didnt care, and i was actually really glad she was. She held a leg while he was being born, and it honestly was the best moment of her life. She marks a changing point in herself for having been there. And i think thats bigger than any fear i might of had about exposing myself.

My friend who was there is like a second mom, she took pictures for me and encouraged me.

My husband helped hold me up as I birthed on a stool.

The moral of this story is, you think you know just who you dont and do want there, but once the moment arrives you REALLY dont give a flying flock if they march the high school band through, let alone some random family member.

Well I have a 2 yr old 6 yr old and a 17 yr old all girls! In order to teach my 17 year old what it would be like to have a child I had her go with me to all my Dr. visits and when the time came she cut the cord! I thought she was going to pass smooth out! After that she decided not to accept any dates to dances or anything she said whats the point I am not having kids I am going to adopt! Yippee! Class dismissed!

I had my mother, the babies father and his mother there. I was really uncomfortable with the idea of her being there but once I was actually in labor I didn't care who was there I was so focused on having the baby and the pushing that I didn't even notice who was there. By the way she cried so hard and thanked me so much that it made me feel good that I shared that with her. My son's father is her baby and she though she would die before he became a father.

Nobody was at the birth of any of my children as they have all been Emergency C.Sections. I have 4 children and every one of them has been born under 30 weeks. My middle child who at 22 now was the smallest - born at 24 weeks weighing 1lb 2Oz's. The rest have ranged from 2lbs 3 and the biggest 4lbs 5Oz's.

Tara was with me when I had my first son she was so funny I didn't want her there I hadn't a clue Bex thought I could do it on my own how wrong was I lol She was a little trouper and having her there really helped she was breathing with me and because she was feeling it all with me she nearly hyperventilated and when I'd had him she was that excited she went running down the corridor shouting in a high pitched voice "Tracy it's a boy" with her arms up in the air and her hands waving (Tracy was her friend) and she was told off for being to loud aawww Tara god bless her!!

For my first, it was like I was giving birth in the middle of a dance floor at a party. My husband was there, his parents, his siblings, my parents, step parents, siblings, friends. It was crazy! I felt like I was a production or something!! We had our own waiting room outside.

For my second just my husband, his mother and my mother were present and for number 3 and 4 it was just my husband and I. I guess by then it was, "Sam's having another baby...been there done that." lol. Him and I was enough.

Best Wishes =]
