Vehicle reported stolen in Illinois, currently in Arizona, Phx. area. Vehicle has no body, but VIN#'s can be found. I just want to junk it, but to do so junk yards need registration papers on the junked vehicle.

Not enough information to give you an answer. Did you just find it in AZ? If so call the police and tell them you just found the car that was stolen from you in IL 18 years ago, and they will handle it from there.

If you just reported it stolen but kept it, and are now trying to get rid of it, you may be in some kind of legal trouble for doing that, although probably the statute of limitations will protect you there. You might be able to sell it for scrap metal prices or parts.

contact the police department to whom the vehicle was reported stolen. If they do not take the vehicle, they should be able to contact any insurance companies that paid for it.
