It's just like a fall. not the fall that kills you...just the sudden stop at the end.

You can receive injuries from a car accident that are not noticeable from the outside. These are called blunt trauma and are usually cause inside the body. This means you can be bleeding from an injury on the inside of your body and not even know it. Most people who do get injured badly are the ones who refuse to buckle up while driving. It is hard to accept that you can die from a car accident even though you are surrounded by a lot of metal frame and air bags. It is always more tragic to loose someone suddenly like in a car accident because you did not get a chance to say goodbye. Hope this helps you answer the question the way you want. Good Luck!

Since you asked the question, I will be a little nicer with my response. Vehicle fatalities happen every day. There are so many reasons and ways that people die in accidents that there isn't enough room in this area to explain. Most of the fatalities I have seen as an EMT are blunt force trauma to the head and main trunk of the body. A vehicle can only protect you so much, but it also can lead to your demise. A 3000 lb chunk of metal is not always save, especially when you take on a 80,000 lb tractor trailer. Car manufacturers have made vehicles a lot safer then in the past, but physics still rule. Vehicle fatalities are just a part of life and driving.
I haven't seen as much as some other people, but I have seen enough. Be safe and be alert.

Blunt Force trauma, that means part actually hit them. Some are from Basal Skull fracture where the head is whipped and the spine seperates from the skull and severes the spinal cord(Dale Earnhart). If ejected from the vehicle it is still blunt force trauma. Folks bleed to death after amputation or an artery is severed too.
What is with the shot/stabbed section of your question???

Trauma to the head or body, excessive bleeding that can not be stopped. I had a friend many years ago and he went into a ditch. The stick shifter went into his chest. Nothing anyone could do. Every time his heart beat, it pump blood out until he closed his eyes and died. :-(

Head injury (impact to windshield, dash, steering wheel, A-pillar) or massive abdominal trauma (steering wheel). Seat belts and air bags (side too) really help.

How stupid are you? From injuries caused by the wreck. You do know you can get crushed and things break and you lose blood. Etc.etc.etc.
