Hi :) It has been my personal experience that we can never be truly happy or fulfilled if we are only thinking of ourselves. True joy comes from giving to others.I praise God for all of those people He has put into my life to make a difference.I like to think that I have made a difference in the lives of others as well. I know nurses battle discouragement sometimes and suffer from burnout ( my mother is a nurse,) but I am sure that you have been a huge blessing to others many times in your career. Please keep up your valuable work!

I don't know about you, but making a difference in someone's life gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling. Like when the kids I tutor in reading start making really good improvement and I know I've helped them.

It could save their life or sanity. I would think a nurse would know that, or are you an Angel of Death. This Q sounds very negative, maybe you should change careers.

Why is someone in a nurse's cap asking this question?

It doesn't do you any good at all. None whatsoever. It helps them out instead. That's why you should do it. That's all.

Erm...making their lives a little better. Being nice. Doing something that's not completely selfish. There's many more reasons. Pick one. Good grief.

I guess nobody has made one in yours, otherwise you wouldn't need to ask the question. It's not about what YOU get out of it, it's what you can GIVE to somebody else who needs something that means anything.
But then again, the truly enlightened view is that it's all just about me anyways, isn't it? Please disregard this answer.

It fulfills my purpose. I am here to show others the love of Jesus Christ. When something like this happens, it deeply fulfills the desires of my heart, which are to reach others with His loving touch.
