you need to report it to the police.

spanking a child is only legal if the child is from age 2 years old to 12 years old. and your 17. That's child abuse. especially for GIGGILING it's not a CRIME. And getting smacked for your brothers badness is PATHETIC. Go to the police or get a lawyer or something.

When your mother is at a quiet and relaxed time and the two of you are alone - - ask her if you could sit down and talk to her. (I know - - this seems like a different kind of approach.) Very calmly, and quietly and sincerely, tell your mother that when you are laughing while you and your brother are getting spanked - - it is because of the fact that you are nervous and scared - - not for any of the reasons she might think it is.

Secondly - - can you talk to any of your counselors at school? You might be getting seriously abused here - - and it needs to stop NOW. Obviously, your mother is stressed out and angry and is resorting to violence because she does not know another way to deal with disciplining her children. Since you are under age - - you need to make sure you talk to adults (Not relatives) that are in authority and give them all of the details about you getting "spanked". Make sure that the spanking does not cross the line into child abuse. Get to that school counselor right away. You could also dial information and get the phone number for Child Protective Services and talk to someone there (obviously, when your mother is not anywhere in the house with you when you are calling.)

Good luck.

Listen child, all of these dummies on here talking about call the police on your mom is stupid and not even worth listening to. Your mom spanks you and your brother because she loves you not hate you. I agree with the last two people tell your mom about your nervousness and explain to her what you have said on here. Don't call the police on your mother where is your father. That's what some of these other dummies on here need to see. Mom is doing the best she can and she is still can make mistakes like anybody else. Just for the record I have 5 boys and 1 girl. I whooped them until they got out of my house. And I bet I'll still go up side their heads to this day. I wish one of them would hit me back. They are very respectful and none of them are on any type of drugs. Good Luck and GOD BLESS!!!!!

Wow that's a tough one.
I guess your mom must misinterpret your giggles as some sort of defiance, or that she thinks her hits on you are having little effect, so she intensifies her effort.

Truthfully it's a very unfair position you are in. Your giggling in this situation is a nervous reaction that is almost impossible to control. It would be far easier if your mother could be a little more understanding.
I know it's hard to do, but I think you should try to talk to her about it at a time when everybody is calm.

Your mom should NOT be spanking you at the age of 15!That is totally child abuse and you first notify your relatives. They should know first. Then call the police or get help from people who can controll your mom.Thats not right especiall for GIGGLING OR LAUGHING!ouch.Get help immediately.

Explain to your mother what you just explained to us -- you have a nervous laugh, and you laugh when you are scared, nervous and so on. Be clear to your mother so that she understands why you laugh. Hopefully your mother won't make the mistake of thinking that you are being rebellious or that she can spank the giggling right out of you.

Good luck.

What your mother is doing can be considered to be major abuse. You need to report what she is doing to either the police or a school official. You are allowed as a minor to file a domestic violence charge. Your mom obviously needs help, and I suspect your brother will as well. Somebody needs to know so that they can get the help they need. Whatever you do, don't blame yourself and think its all your fault.

Mother should not still be spanking you at your age. She should be grounding you or taking away things that you like, if you are doing things that annoy her. Someone needs to talk to your mother.
