MiniDV or DVD?

Im thinking of buying a new camcorder but I need some advice. This will be my first camcorder, so which is better? Also, Im not into uploading and editing videos on the computer.I just want to record and be able to watch them on tv.

When you star something you want more and more, in my opinion you should buy a miniDV format, you never know and maybe one day you could be a great editor.
