We already know it is a man-made belief so why are so many people still in Christianity, Islam, etc.?

Because they have not found a relationship with Jesus. Christianity is not religion. Religion is man's attempt to reach God. It's all in vain. Whom the Son sets free is free indeed.

I don't follow religion, I follow God through a relationship with Jesus.

In direct response to your question, I think that external projection of belief truly transforms a person's life for the better. Take for example John Newton's and William Wilberforce's Christian fight against the slave trade, and charities such as the Red Cross, St Vincent De Paul & the Salvation Army that originally came from Christian roots.

People want answers to questions such as "For what purpose are we here?" and "What is the meaning of life?", and "Why do bad things happen to good people?". Questions that are clearly outside of the scope of science and are more in the realm of philosophy and religion. Religion and theology attempts to answer those types of questions.

Studies of parallel development of differing cultures by anthropologists shows that to a certain extent, we are "hard wired" in our belief in a Higher Power, something that is greater than we are, and that is the cause and beginning of everything. This common thread runs through all of humanity through all ages/time periods.

Your assertion that we "already know it is a man-made belief" is your opinion, and I suppose you are entitled to it. I choose to believe that what we know has been revealed to us by God, and that the wisdom of the ancients is still valid for us today.

Religion is man's quest to know God, and to try and make sense out of life when things happen that appear terrible or appear to otherwise make no sense. It has, and continues to be, a source of comfort and solace to millions of people throughout the world, and will continue to be so until the end of time.

IF its a man-made belief, then why are they're miracles that defiy what man has set into standards. We have tons of evidencee that there was a creator of the world, so its pointless to even say its not; evolution is just as much as a faith as anything else. The difference is is that I know whaat im am doing after I die, and you think we are just going to fade away. Perhaps I dont ahve any sources off hand, but google it for yourself. God is here, and God is real, and he is even protecting you. GOD BLESS

Several reasons. People on the whole still like ceremonial expression, emotional release through dogma, a desire to find personal purpose, a quick and easy explanation for a complex world, etc. Religion isn't the only way to get all of these, but it does provide for all these needs in a convenient package.

Wrong, I don't follow religion, I have a personal relationship with the Lord. When your God is still alive, that makes a difference.

Religion unifies people, but since there are more than 1, debates continue. Eventually though, there will be just 1 Religion left. (Considering ofcourse atheists are not a religion.)

If religion is man made who gave man the ability to make religion?

For me its all about connection, firstly, spiritually with God, and secondly with the people of the Church who I have communion and friendship with.
I need structure in my life, both spiritually, culturally and socially.

I know!
Like what makes you so sure that there is some greater God that controls us? Don't these people want proof?
But i guess it's so that when there is nothing left to beleive in, then you can beleive in God, which is a happy thing to invision.
