Some work, some don't. You will just have to see what happens. If you were meant to be together everything will be fine.

It will totally work as long as you both work at it. I've been dating my bf for 4 years i live in the U.S and hes in Germany. A year isn't too bad, its hard but its not bad, expecially when you know that you won't have to do the long distance thing again. Make sure that you do a lot of talking and keep eachother informed about eachother lives. Also this relationship is gonna take a lot of trust, so if you don't trust him now you might want to start talking to him about it. If you and you bf want to make it work it will. Good luck and enjoy Japan.

Not all long distance relationships work out especially if you both are young. You can both meet other people while you are separated. Sorry, but things like that happen to alot of people when one's dad is in the Army. It can work out if you both want it to but a year is a long time to be separated.

Sure, if you're both committed to it and willing. Just make sure you keep the lines of communication open - that's the most important thing. Being in a different country makes it harder (a lot more expensive for phone calls), but look into some of these digital phones. I've heard they're extremely cost effective if you plan on making lots of calls to another country. Hope that helps.

honestly probably not unless there is a VERY strong conection between you both. I would say chances are pretty good that in a year things will change drastically for you both. your young don't keep a commitment if your not sure but maybe when you come back things will be good you never know but I have had many encounters with teenage boys and usually they don't think to far ahead.

I would not hold my breath to it. I mean that type of commitment can be hard for a couple of kids at your age. If he truly loves you he would wait and vise-verse. The idea sounds beautiful but my advice to you would be not to wait because when you finally come back you guys are going to be complete different people. Focus mainly on your education don't wait around because nothing is promise in this world.

well one year is not thaaat long. why dont both get a web cam and microphone so you can see and talk to each other every day and the time will pass before you know it. if you really love each other and you are quite some time together you will make it last.
Good luck!

If you really love each others then yes. But since you guys are still high school teenagers, then it might not because of teenagers don't really get a serious relationship, they might think its serious but its really not but again I said most of the time not always. That's why in my high school I didn't get a full time relationship, most of the girls I knew were close friends, and some of them were my "sex partners" since I knew if I get a relationship it probably wouldn't last more than a year or 2.

Possibly. If the love and devotion is strong enough, it will last.

Long distance relationships are about 50/50. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. Just prepare yourself for the worst and the best beforehand and life will be good to you. Best wishes!

If you were older i would say yes, but because your still young you will probable find someone else, which is perfectly OK. Your young don't limit yourself. Live your life to the fullest and enjoy Japan.
