Even though he has boiled it and put alcohol peroxide on it, its not sterile. Steel is only sterile if used in an autoclave. It sounds like youre not going to a professional, thats your choice. If the person before them had any thing in their blood, whether it be anything from HIV's to sickle cell, you run such a high risk of caughting it from that needle. Your body its self can also easily reject the tattoo due to it being preused. Its not a myth that peoples tattoos can come off. Tattoos can peel off ones skin with ease if injected enough. Think before you ink.
Would you want your surgeon using the same sheets, needles, knives, IVs from the surgery before yours on you?

NO, THAT IS NOT SAFE! DO NOT LET HIM TATTOO YOU!
Needles should only be used ONCE, and everything that touches you should go through an autoclave (which is basically a medical pressure cooker - doctors and dentists use it too).
You know why? Because autoclaves are the only thing that kill Hepetitis. Boiling doesn't. Alcohol doesn't. Peroxide doesn't. There are a lot of things that won't kill, actually.
So if anyone before you had a bloode-borne disease that is fairly tough, you will catch it. And heptitis is FOR LIFE, and it is DEADLY.
Don't take the chance.

No! Were you at a licensed shop? If so do not go there for anything. That is unsanitary and puts everyone at risk. A new needle should be used every time. The shop I go to uses disposable one-time use needles and put them in a sharp box (like the hospital) once it's been used. I wouldn't trust that shop if I were you, seems dingy from the start. Find a different shop.

While it is perfectly legal for tattoo artists to steralize needles it isnt safe.
The tattoo will not look anyuwhere near the same as it would if it was done with a brand new needle. My first tattoo was done with a steralized needle and it is very raised and bumpy, and that was done 5 years ago and you can definatly tell the difference as the needle would now be blunt not sharp!
I would go somewhere else where they always use new needles!

It seems like the vast majority of shops go with disposable needles; it's just too much work & too risky, it appears, to sterilize your own.
However, from what I know of the few shops (and hospitals) who do sterilize their needles, the above will *not* work and it is not what they do. Barring semantic & wording confusions of what you're relating, I'm pretty sure all this person is working on a recipe for general badness.
Best not to visit this fellow.

No its not safe to use a used needle, everyone knows that. Never get a tattoo like that, and before you even do your tattoo make sure that its safe and clean and know who your are going to.

NO, new needles need to be used every time... and anything else that comes into contact with you needs to be autoclaved... dont risk it.. go somewhere else... do you want to catch something like HIV or Hep C just so you can have your tattoo right now? if you really want it you wont mind waiting

It is not safe unless it is a brand new needle just out of the packaging or freshly sterilized.
