"It was of old observed that fair weather comes out of the north, and that the north wind drives away rain; and by these sacrifices the storms of God's wrath are scattered, and the light of God's countenance is obtained," Matthew Henry Commentary.

The sacrifices of birds was the poor man's sacrifice. These are just my thoughts, but the mercy of God shining in the darkness in their lives gives way to his light as the sun arising in the east brings a new day.

It has to do with the dimensions of the tabernacle. There are some deep scientifically explained books about the size and ever exact detail building and the altar. When you or the priests entered the Holy of Holies every sacrifice had to have been done perfectly or the priest would be killed as he entered. The mercy seat and the ark of the covenant are in the Holy of Holies also. I have some good teachings about this in book but at the moment I'd need to do some research to answer more specifically. I will edit when I check if the ? is still here.

I wish Daisy that I could tell you for sure. But I am sure someone of the Jewish faith could tell you. I don't really have a book on that one. But I know that using the hyssop branch to sprinkle blood, and the other things are significant, and point to Jesus, His crucifixion, and resurrection. I have a customs book that I will check and see if something is in it.
Sorry, I didn't find that. I can tell of the reasons for a sacrifice, but not about the prescribed method. But I will keep looking elsewhere.
