Not in one continuous trip. Amtrak does offer cross country travel, but depending on where you want to start and end your trip, you'll have to change trains a few times.
Get on the Amtrak web site to find routes and schedules...

i've got been to the country thrice. the 1st for 6 months vacationing in a motor homestead with my (then 11 365 days previous) daughter. at first, there is little distinction between the persons of england and the US (i'm an Aussie), you handle them properly, you get the same in return. "have confidence no person" isn't a genuine indication of this united states of america. We chanced on no distinction in the therapy from voters of the south, north or on the two seaboard. The west-coasters are purely somewhat extra informal is all (with the extra advantageous climate, they are able to locate the money for to be). The W is a robust concept for short journeys. That way you conceal the two coasts. We had six months; zigged-zagged around the northern states, down the east coast then zig-zagged returned west around the southern states. Even then we ignored plenty! won't be able to remark on the practice as your transport mode, different than to assert it sounds remarkable and is possibly particularly a lifelike approach. Greyhound could be functional too as many cities have not got rail as an decision. My proper techniques: ~ enable additional funds than you think of you desire. while you're on the cheap, then think of with regard to ways to stretch your money. ~ elementary experience! Use it all of the time. do no longer take any disadvantages which contain your protection. ~ examine (formerly you flow) all of the foremost cities and factors of interest you desire to flow to. ~ maximum of those cities (and particularly some smaller cities) have their very own web content. hire them, touch them with any questions you have. ~ handle truthfully everyone you meet with utmost courtesy and admire. ~ MAPS! Get your self a Rand McNally Atlas (e book length is way less confusing than the huge one). learn it as you flow! ~ handle this holiday like this is the only one you will ever have and revel in it.

Not anymore.
For several years, the Sunset Limited used to go from Jacksonville, FL to Los Angeles. But now, as a single train, it originates (or ends) in New Orleans to LA. You can take the Southern Crescent from NY to NO, then switch to the Sunset.
Otherwise, you have to go through Chicago to make an east-west trip.

i know that you want this to happen in the usa but i figure that cross country deserves a bit of new scenery. if you cross over into Canada you will be able to catch a train all the way across the land. not to mention that you can get off and on the train as you please for about a week.
