I've read quite a few answers on here with people saying that they've read the Quran and it answered all their questions. Do you really mean that or are you just saying? I'm not going to sit here and say that the Quran is chock-full of hatred or anything like that but it sure as hell doesn't have any answers to life. It's just stories with the threat of hell thrown in every once in a while. Nothing sigifnicant, so if you haven't read it don't lie and say you have!

I know it's full of hatred, threats and what not but what I was trying to say was that I wasn't trying to discuss that. That topic has already been covered in depth and unfortunately doesn't seem to change too many muslim opinions.

You know, someone who wasn't raised Christian and sat down to read the bible would most likely say the same thing. There are a good number of stories in the bible that could be interpreted as hatred or an intolerant aggressive God ordering his followers to kill all the non-believers, especially in the old testament. Couldn't you also say the bible is "just stories with the threat of hell thrown in every once in a while"?

You didn't say you're Christian, but I'm just trying to make a point. It's hard to find answers in these religious texts if you haven't been taught how to interpret them, which is why they're so often used as manipulative tools.

I have read the Q'uoran in English. The funniest thing I've seen to date is that email that was going around talking about how in verse 9 chp 11 the Q'uoran predicts 9-11 and it says some bs about the eagle's wrath. Wow, someone was really reaching with that one!

As a Muslim yes of course i have. If you dont find answers to your life so be it. That does not mean it does not have answers to others and their lives now does it?
You dont say if you believe in God or not if you do then why is God reminding you that Hell is a dwelling place for the sinners a threat? If you dont believe in God then well none of it affects your life anyway does it? Why would you care if people have read it or not? Why would you care if their is significance in it or not?
So you have read it and it means nothing to you and your point is?
For me and 1.6 billion other people around the globe their are answers to life's questions in abundance and is extremely significant in our lives. You say potatoes i say potatoes.

the quran is always reminding us that we are not going to live for ever and that eveything we do in this life is for the next. u are looking at the negative only. the quran does talk about hell and heaven, but i think u mix up with hell and the day of judgement. the quran warns us not to do bad or hell will be our destiny. it also praises and encourages doing good. your destiny is heaven.

I read many verses from it because I was told there are "scientific miracles" in it. Fortunately, I am educated enough to see the flasehood of the claims. I was very interested in Islam for a while. Now I know exactly what it is.

I'd like to thank all the Muslims who expose themselves as frauds when they make extravagant claims and hoaxes. It let's me know that I was smart for not buying what they are trying to sell.

If someone has to use lies, tricks, smoke, and mirrors to spread their religion, how true can it be? I believe in God, but not the way it's sold to me by the "experts"

I have studied the Qu'ran and Mohammad to a certain degree. I have also read some books on Islam and the belief system and how Islam started.

No, it's a tough read in English. Although I've heard Muslims claim it is very melodious in the language it was written, it hasn't translated very gracefully.

I have not read the Qu'ran. I think it would be interesting to read it and find out how extremists can warp it into meaning that all infadels must die.

By the way, infadel just means non-believer.

I complete reading the entire Qur'an every year during Ramadan, both in Arabic and English.

In my opinion, I don't think YOU have read (and understood) the Qur'an. For if you did, you wouldn't say what you said...

Sorry, but I think you are the one who needs to put more effort into not just reading it, but understanding it's meaning, and the context in which it was revealed to Muhammad (peace be upon him). I think only then can you truly be in a position to comment on it...

Peace brother!

I've read the Quran and I'll say it for you - it's chocked full of hatred.

Edit: The person below me doesn't even know the Quran well enough to know he's not supposed to call anyone "brother" except fellow Muslims.
