Regimented. You get up very early, they kep you busy all day with either gym stuff or basic army courses (rules and regulations, how to handle/ shoot weapons, etc) and you go to bed quite tired, only to start again the next day. But it is quite varied, there is a lot to learn and it can be good fun

The military channel has a marine boot camp show on tonight. I bet it ain't the boot camp yours truly visited in 1972 at Parris Island SC .A very nice gentleman got on the bus and cordially invited us to join him on some adorable yellow footprints. They issued some new clothes and gave us all nice haircut and fed us some good fast food. When I left home I had a fight with my parents and wife and sent no letters home. Big mistake! The commander had me on his carpet and ordered me to write letters home everyday. We had a wonderful time running everywhere and doing exercises all the time. We learned to shoot a rifle and a pistol and do first aid and swim real well and jump off of a 75 foot tower (abandon ship training) we had to go over an obstacle course and get a lot of shots and got to find out if our gas masks worked and we learned how to fight hand to hand and to work as a team and we were one for all and all for one just like the 3 musketeers! It was tough but you can do it. You just have to go in there and do what they ask and be polite.
Remember you are Not a marine until you get to that graduation. Until then you are a bottom feeding, lower life form.Maybe you didnt join the marine I hope! Ha Ha

What branch? The Marines Boot Camp will be like living in hell. The Navy Boot Camp is not much better. The Air Force is cake, or so I've heard. In any case, be prepared to be humiliated, rudely treated, and function on less than 5 hours of sleep or less. In other words, it'll be fun!

my boyfriend is in boot camp right now (camp pen.-going on the 5th week YAY!) and he says that its a lot of physical endurance....running...pushups... jumping jacks...crunches....thats what he tells me he's doing...a lot of drills. he says hes met a lot of cool guys...they do yell but it seems like if you do what you need to do its not that bad. he likes it...his experience seems not all that bad. dont get me wrong hes homesick and wishes he can eat a pizza but what do you expect its boot camp? he says that its a whole other world! but it seems like everyone has their own story to tell and experienced in another way. i dont think youre as prepared as you think you are. i think you go with it. but then again im not there and i dont know what it feels like...im just telling you what he says through LETTERS.

Physically and mentally challenging. Get yourself in great physical shape now.
You will learn more about yourself than you thought possible. You will hate it while you are there, then later think it wasn't that bad.
