your hay fever may be contributing to a weakend immune system, and the virus that causes coldsores/fever blisters is able to take advantage of this state. Use abreva, which is an over the counter remedy that actually works. if you have a coldsore you should also wash it out consistently with warm water and a fairly strong soap. Basically fever blisters are caused by a strain of the herpes virus...but what's actually happening is that your cells are infected with a virus that confuses these cells into attacking themselves. If you keep the sore clean, it will heal faster. so make a point to continually clean it out.

i understand what you advise. I too now get a reaction to multiple varieties of lip balm (by no skill did earlier nevertheless). i used to have the skill to apply fairly plenty any style of lip balm, chapstick, etc. Now except i exploit one particular variety, i'm getting a fever blister / chilly sore. Very bothersome it extremely is. :(

no it can't. fever blisters are caused by the herpes virus which you contracted when you had chicken pox as a child.
