How do you explain the bible

The bible is like an instruction manual on life. It gives us instructions on how to deal with daily issues as well as profound issues that we may face. It is also God's last will and "testament". The bible clearly states all that He has in store for us and what responsibilities we have in order to receive them.

The reason the bible has all of this meaning within it is because it is the word of God. "In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God".

Wow, this is seriously a question that requires a long answer. You really want to know?

***This is NOT going to be a copy and paste.***

Let's see:
1. Prophecy. There are HUNDREDS of specific prophecies which have been fulfilled (the rest concern the "end times" and have yet to be fulfilled). Some are even attested to throughout history.
2. Many things in it have been corroborated by history, science (yes, science), and archaeology. Not all of it, not by a long shot, but a lot.
3. It contains wisdom that is still used today. Take the Proverbs, for instance.
4. The Bubonic Plague was ended when the system for cleansing and for containment, described in the Bible, was used.

And there are so many more reasons. Those are all I can think of right now. I think I need to go to bed.

The Bible (latin for Book) is better described as a library of books in two sections. The first (Commonly called the Old Testament) references how God dealt with mankind from the beginning until the fulfilment of His plan. The second, the New Testament, is the record of the establishment and the definitions of the Covenant God offers to mankind (through Jesus Christ).

When Bible authority is mentioned, it is ususally the idea that the BIble is the communication of God.

There is a lack of time to explain why these books are the Bible, but in a short answer it is because they are commonly testified in antiquity as being authentic by the author, and accepted betweem each other. These books are self-refered to as Scripture, the WOrd of God, The Word of Truth, the Bread of Life (more spiritual context), and we call it the BIble

Here is what the Bible says about itself, Scripture:

2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Note the important points in this statement:
1. All scripture is spoken by God
2. It has a purpose for our life
3. It makes us complete, and thoroughly equipped

The third point makes clear that no other text or book or guidance is needed to be a person of God. Just the Bible. No priest, preacher, reverand, pastor, rabbi, or scholar is necessary in your understanding of God

Here is another statement the Bible makes about itself:
Jude 3 I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.

If it was delivered once for all 2000 years ago, no other revelations are going to occur. This also sets the stage for Bible authority: there is no other authority

One more point the Bible makes about itself:
Revelation 22:18 For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; 19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

The Bible is not to be changed in meaning, or application. Consider it the blueprint of Salvation; if the pattern is not followed, then the structure is not sound

2 Timothy 3:16.

American Standard Version
"Every scripture inspired of God is also profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction which is in righteousness."

The Bible is God's written Word to us.
It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit.

“Above all you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.” 2 Peter 1:20-21. (New International Version)

The bible is our creator God's written word to us His people. The God who created the universe actually inspired His prophets, apostles and others to write about how much He loves us and gives us a set of guidelines and rules to live by which are for our benefit. The Logos word is the written word which we read and the Rhema word is when God speaks to us by His spirit in an extraordinary powerful way - it makes a huge impact when we here Him speak to our hearts - there's no mistaking His voice. When God designed us He put eternity in our hearts - that all men and women would seek Him and enjoy being in relationship with Him - He is a personal God and longs for us to come close to Him. God came to earth in the person of Jesus to draw all mankind back to Himself. He is a living God and daily longs for us to love Him in return.
So by God's authority the world was made. Everything is under Jesus feet.
