You can build a flea trap -- it will get rid of some of the fleas at least.

Have you tried a flea preventative, like Advantage?

Flea Trap:

You will need a table or desk lamp (or you can use a nightlight). Put the lamp on the floor and turn it on. Underneath it, put a bowl or pan of soapy water (you don't have to have a lot of soap or suds in it). Fleas will be attracted to the heat of the lamp and will fall into the water. They won't be able to jump out due to the surface tension of the soap and will drown. You should put a flea trap in any room the dog spends time in. Be sure to have plenty of fresh water out so your dog doesn't drink the soapy stuff.

What have you used so far? Pet store products? They don't work. Neither do 'home remedies' really, but at least they're safer than store products.

Go to a vets for some proper treatment. You need something like Frontline for your dog, and also a spray for your house - you must always treat the animal and the environment, fleas are living in both.

All the previous suggestions are good ones. You also might try bathing your dog with Dawn dishwashing detergent. Soap your dog up good, then let the soap stay on him for a few minutes. Rinse well. Then I take a small quantity of lavendar baby oil (Johnsons&Johnsons makes this, it costs just a couple of bucks) and pour it into my hands. Then you run your hands through your dogs fur. Then rinse again. The Dawn kills the fleas on your dog, while the oil makes it difficult for new fleas to hang on...the lavendar in the oil is also supposed to be a natural flea repellant. The oil will also help sooth your dogs skin. Hope this helps!

If you squeeze the juice out of lemons and boil them down and apply to dog by means of spray bottle that it will naturally keep fleas away and drive them from your dog. Just make sure you don't get any in your dog's eye.
