hi my golden retriever is going to give birth to a litter of puppies in 25-30 days, and i was wondering what kind of bedding i should use in the welping box after she gives birth to them, I was reading about using hay or wood shavings, but hay can cause fleas and ticks, and everything Ive read has said not to use woodchips or shavings with newborn puppies, so I'm going to use sheets and blankets, or does anyone have another idea?

I don't know too much about bedding, but if you need some good recipes I can send them too you.

Fresh puppies are the best, so you may want to try a few.

Lot of blankets and towels is fine - just something the pups can snuggle in to! Hay and wood chips isn't very nice, is hard to keep clean and is conducive to bugs. You need to keep the mother regularly wormed and defleaed, or the pups will be born with worms and will quickly get infested with fleas.

Old towels that you would be willing to throw away would be good too. Whatever you use, you will probably have to toss out so start collecting.
