Which do you like better: Being alone or going out with others??

I am not a shy person at all. I enjoy talking to people and helping those in need. I have always been told that I don't meet strangers. However, I do like doing things alone. For example, I would rather curl up and read a good book anyday over going out with friends to eat or shop. My mom thinks something is wrong with me, b/c most people my age(24) enjoy doing things. She thinks I am depressed. I would rather sleep, read, listen to music or whatever by myself. No... I do not date either. I don't think I am weird, just different. I think I am just ultimately happy when I am alone, b/c I only have to deal with myself. I don't worry about conflicts or trouble when I am alone. What about you?

I like being alone. Well... I like spending time with the few people/animals who are close to me. I like curling up and reading, listening to music, etc... but with my dog or rats or girlfriend or... But being completely alone is nice too, and definitely preferable to going out.

I don't really care to meet people for the sake of meeting people. If I'm out and someone interesting crosses my path, I might talk to them. But I never really go out just for the sake of meeting people (I NEVER go to bars, clubs, etc...). It just feels empty to me.

That said, I've also never been on a "date". I've only had 2 bonafide relationships (one of which is the current), and they were people who I kinda just knew and we just suddenly fell into a relationship... and the act of going on dates came after that. I've never been on a date with someone I wasn't already in a relationship with.

So... everyone's different. It's certainly nothing to worry about. Some people like being alone, some people like staying home with someone they care about, some people like going out and meeting tons of new people.

It seems that we have the same problem. I have had all of my books burned out in our fields because my parents thought that I spent too much time reading or being in my own company. Something that I will do is associate with more people that enjoy reading and start a book club, or go out with people to a cafe so that I can read and socialize at the same time. When going to see a movie I go by myself the first time, so that I am actually able to see the movie, and will rent or go see the movie a second time with friends so that I can talk about it.

Ultimately you are not weird, you are just comfortable in your own company and many people I know are like that. You are just the kind of person that enjoys alone time and that shouldn't be something to take for granted.

Being alone! I love to read and watch movies and listen to music by myself. I like shopping by myself and hiking by myself(well with my dog). I love gardening by myself. The thing is I have two young kids that are always around and I love hanging out with my husband. My job is really social and I go to school full time. So when I get the chance to be alone I LOVE IT!!!!!! I get all the social time I need(I do love it too though),

depends completely on my mood.
sometimes i just want to be alone to do whatever i want and sometimes i want to socialize.
as long as you're okay with it and not feeling bad about being alone then don't worry about what others think.

i'd rather be alone in my room talking to other people on yahoo answers or myspace than doing anything with anyone else in "real life"
