Because he was sent only to speak to the Jews. It wasn't until later than the invitation was extended to non-Jews:
"In answer he said: “I was not sent forth to any but to the lost sheep of the house of Israel" -Matthew 15:24
"These twelve Jesus sent forth, giving them these orders: “Do not go off into the road of the nations, and do not enter into a Sa·mar′i·tan city; but, instead, go continually to the lost sheep of the house of Israel." -Matthew 10:5, 6
"For I am not ashamed of the good news; it is, in fact, God’s power for salvation to everyone having faith, to the Jew first and also to the Greek;" -Romans 1:16
"but you will receive power when the holy spirit arrives upon you, and you will be witnesses of me [First] both in Jerusalem and in all Ju·de′a and Sa·mar′i·a and [Then] to the most distant part of the earth" -Acts 1:8
Jesus' preaching lasted only 3 1/2 years before he was killed. The Jews were the first to receive Jesus invitation to become his followers and ultimately rule with him in heaven over the earth. However, the number of Jews who did accept this invitation did not fill the appointed number of thrones in heaven. Hence, persons from the nations began to be invited. -see Matthew 22:1-10, 14 compare to Revelaton 5:9, 10 and Revelation 14:1-3
The Jews are no longer God's chosen people. God has turned his attention to a new nation, Christianity.
"This is why I say to you, The kingdom of God will be taken from you [Jews] and be given to a nation producing its fruits. Now when the chief priests [of the Jews] and the Pharisees [Jewish religous leaders] had heard his illustrations, they took note that he was speaking about them." -Matthew 21:42-45 see also Matthew 21:33-41 and Matthew 23:37, 38

For that matter, if god is immortal and patient, why not wait to have jesus show up during a time period when television and radio could have instantly taken the message around the planet? Showing up in 2000 years ago would not be nearly as effective as showing up in the year 2000.

He came with an agenda, with a mission plan. His mission plan did not included traveling outside the area He traveled. For the rest of the world He commissioned his disciples to spread His wod. His mission included the intensive training He gave them to prepare them for preaching the gospel starting from Jerusalem.

Ive asked why God felt his word wasnt important enough to bring to the New World for almost 1600 years, and China for almost 1200 years and I have yet to receive a good response.
Apparently, God cares more for Jews and Middle Easterners, than he does for Asians and Indians.

Good point, but not entirely true. There is record Jesus traveled to India as it is noted within Indian Archives.
The world (concentrated populations)at that time mostly consisted of the middle east, Eroupe, Africa and parts of Asia including China.
My second part response is Jesus was seen as Jesus within the middle east and this name Jesus is a translation, Latin I believe.
Jesus also traveled to many lands and times; however, he was not viewed as 'JESUS" within the Christian bible, but Intepreated as "Allah", Mohammad" and Buddah.
Jesus was the first of mankind to acsend (spelled wrong) to God in his spiritual evolution; it was the times he reincarnated and cultures he visited that gave him his names and intepretations; certainly, such a being of high consciousness would not spread the truth of reality to ONE NATION alone.
Yet, the EGO for the Church teaches that Jesus,w ithijn the Christian Dogmatic doctrine, is the "Only true son of God" and in this I tell you is the great lie at work. This is a distortion of truth and retardation of anyones spiritual journey whom seeks truth.
All Men are sons of God as God made each and each seeks a way back to God by the very same journey Jesus took.
That is my best answer.
