I'm 51 now and when I was 4 years old I had a dream about a bridge collapsing under me and the creek/river had alligators in it. I can remember the dream like it was 5 minutes ago and have had a fear of bridges my entire life. I don't allow my fear to dictate where I will drive or walk (l cried and hid in the floorboard of the car when crossing a bridge for a couple of years after the dream), but I do still get stressed when crossing a bridge.

You are obviously not going to forget this dream, but you MUST remember that it was JUST a dream. Good luck in dealing with your fear.

I don't like bridges or any place up high (like driving over a mountain or sitting on a balcony). If it's high enough to die, I'm gonna be freaked. If it's only so high to break a leg, I'm okay. I'm not afraid of plane travel, though because I'm enclosed.

Deal with this like any other fear. Fear is supposed to protect us from harm. Sometimes we trick ourselves. You know that most bridges are safe. People cross them all the time. You simply have to learn to believe what you know. Simple, but difficult. Good luck!
