Ok so me and my fiance want to have a June-ish to about September wedding. We haven't set an exact date due to finding out what is good for both families but we are not sure where to have the big day. I want some thing that is different. I don't want it at a regular hall. As for him he is leaving it up to me so I need ideas of some great place in the Southern California area. We live in the Los Angeles area but have many family members that are scattered so the city is not a big deal. What i would like to know is if you have been to or had a wedding some where and would highly suggest it. If you have web sites, phone numbers, names, or whatever that is good. Thank you to everyone who has suggestions!

And when it comes to our budget it is not very much of a factor being we are willing to work around anything.

The best place to find venues in the Los Angeles area is http://www.projectwedding.com/. They have great reviews with contact information.

I've only been to one wedding in the LA area and that was at the Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden at the Cal State Long Beach http://www.csulb.edu/~jgarden/. Really pretty but they have too many restrictions for my taste. I'm getting married at the Marvimon http://www.marvimon.com/ It's a loft space downtown. We also have family coming in from various places so downtown made the most sense for us.

If budget isnt an issue, definitely check out www.herecomestheguide.com. I would also check out the Long Beach Aquarium. We were planning our wedding there and it was absolutely awesome! Another good place was the sky lounge restauraunt in downtown la if you want modern or the plaza 505 if you want theatre style. Good Luck!

Tough question for So Cal. You might want to post this under "Local Businesses." Edit: The park idea below is a good one. Where in So Cal do you plan on having the wedding?

Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego... beautiful beach weddings.

I performed one in Carlsbad at the beach there.

There are several places in Orange County (I'd check with the parks department) but I'm not familiar with them because I just moved here, started school and haven't had time to explore yet.

How about the Queen Mary in Long Beach? I haven't been there, but I've seen pictures of weddings on the ship. It looks beautiful. It might be haunted, but it could be fun.... :)

Good luck and congratulations!
