I hate everyday things too, I try to take an everyday staple and turn it into something unique and personalized.
Tacos are everyones favorite....Make a casserole, one dish cleaning, easy to reheat and taking something everyday and turning it into something new.
( They make kits in the taco isle now) Take your meat cook as you like it, I love mine nice and spicey. Add season packet for taco to meat, {i cook grn pepper and onion with mine} Grab your soft tortilla or taco shell. line bottom of casserole or cake pan, add meat, add layer of cheese. {I love cheese so I "frost" shells with dip cheese, like nacho or cheese wiz} I use cheddar, montery , mozzerlla, anything flavorful and melty gooey. The taco cheese has flavor added.
Place another layer and build so on. Ending with shell and cheese for top. Bake 350. till golden and bubly
i then take sourcream and salsa or taco sauce and mix together creating a drizzle. I cut lettuce, tomatoes, what ever veggies you like, pickeld halepeno peppers, black olives. When casserole comes out put veggies on top, drizzle with sr crm mix. serve. I was always running out of meat cheese, and soo many dishes to wash with everyone making there own, so now i get leftovers easy clean up and everyones craving for tacos is put to rest.
Another one
Chicken pot pie...Chicken(you cook or buy rotassary) frozen mix veggies I use the typical carrot and pea mix with brocolli and colli mix) Once tried it with southwestern mix and added montrey cheese and a spicey sausage to it mmm good.
gravy made ahead or bought, mashed potatoes, or canned potatoes diced. pie crust same pre made or use your favorite recipe.
combine ingredients and put into crust dab with butter at top, dont forget to taste to se if seasonig is enough. I have added leftover stuffing to it (rice with southwesternand left out potatoe)before, m good. Bake 350 until golden and bubbly . dont forget vent holes on top crust. smear with butter while hot.
Take your spaghetti night and turn that into a pie too. take noodles combine with egg, ricotta cheese, and seasonings
Put onbottom of pan on top add your meat mixture, I add sausage beef, pepporoni, you know what you and you family likes build form that. Layer woth cheese.
simple chicken casserole, layer cooked egg noodles with cream of something soups I use two cans thinned with milk. add paprika and seaosnings. Cooked shredded chicken or cut up left over chicken meat. on top of that add sliced cheese. I do add shredded when on hand but the sliced am. cheese leaves it supper creamy. end with buttered bread crumbs or just the cheese. fast cheap and tasty.
hope theese helped. Good luck and jsut remeber we are our own best chefs, we already know what we like so take what we know and experiment with it. Just have some bread and jam on hand jsut incase we mess somethig up lol. The way I look at it I have never really flubbed a new try unless the dog wont even eat it, then i have to say no way on that (only happened once, lol) Sometimes my mess ups are my best dishes. sometimes meeses lead to trying something to fix it, and come up with a good treat.

My favorite "barely cooking" meal. Boil a package of ravioli or tortellini, toss with most of a tub of pesto, and add Parmesan.
Or you can boil some pasta while sauteeing some mushrooms in garlic and butter, dump in a jar of roasted garlic alfredo sauce, a dash of half and half or milk, and a handful of Parmesan. Heat all that up and toss with the drained pasta.
Put a corned beef brisket in the crockpot in the morning. At night it's done! All you have to do is whip up some instant potatoes with some garlic powder.
With any of these, just tear open a bagged salad and grab a bottle of dressing and you're set. Also, while making the pasta dishes you have time to quickly broil some garlic cheese toast.

I have a great recipe for Salsa Chicken which is really tasty and simple. Preheat your oven to 450. Take chicken breast and sprinkle taco seasoning over it. Put this into a glass baking dish. Along with the chicken I usually throw in a Spanish Rice kit with all ingredients listed on package(Lipton's is great), some stewed tomatoes, chopped peppers, chopped onions and a jar of salsa. Put it in the oven for about 30 minutes and then top with a mexican or cheddar cheese. You can also put a little sour cream on top as well. We usually have Sangria or Margaritas and have a spanish themed party. This dish has been a favorite of my friends and family. Hope you enjoy!

I made this Sunday - we really like it.
Goulash
1 lb. ground beef
1 Tbsp olive oil
1 red onion, chopped
Some chopped celery
Some chopped green bell pepper
Big spoon of garlic
1 Tbsp paprika
S&P
1.5 cups elbow mac
1 can cheddar soup
1 can tomato soup
Green olives
Cheddar cheese
It's simple. Boil the mac, fry up the beef with everything through garlic, then add the paprika and S&P. Then add the soups and olives. Toss the sauce with the drained pasta, put it in a large baking pan, top with cheese and whack it in the oven until the cheese is melted.

Spaghetti Carbonara!
3 eggs
1/3-1/2 cup of half & half cream
1 pound bacon
16 oz of linguine (regular or wheat)
Parsley
salt & pepper to taste
(makes 1 pound, can halve everything for smaller portion)
Cross cut bacon into small pieces and fry in frying pan. Drain and set aside. Cook pasta in boiling water with a little salt and olive oil. While cooking mix together eggs and cream in bowl and add salt, pepper to taste.
Drain pasta, let cool for no more then 1 min. and then pour in egg & cream while stirring. Add bacon and stir. Chop parsley and sprinkle in half handful.
Great meal! Bacon can be substituted for ham, prosciutto, etc. and cooked onions or green peas often added. Make anyway you like.

fish: try Sauced Fish
minced garlic, sliced onion, sliced green chilli (long green chilli, do not use bell pepper), oyster sauce, water, and fish (Tilapia is the best).
Fry the Fish. set aside.
sauté garlic, onion and green chilli, pour-in oyster sauce (about 3/4 cup), add water (about 1cup), bring to boil. pour-in on the fried fish.
Chicken: try Roasted Chicken Jerk
look for a Jerk Spice on the spices section on the nearest supermarket in your place or if you want some conventional, try mixing 13 different kinds of spices (onion, garlic, ginger, paprica, pepper, laurel, oregano, peppermint, etc.). Use this to marinade you chicken, preferably the leg quarter part. Marinade it for 3-5 hours, add salt if you want. Roast it or at least Grill it to cook. Serve with salsa.
enjoy cooking and eating
