The documents have to be saved in a format that Works can read. For this you'll need to open the documents in Word then click FILE then 'Save As'. At the bottom of the "Save As' dialog box, change the "Save as type' drop box to one of the following:
.RTF - Rich Text Format
.WPS - Works word processor (**)

Note: ** indicates a version number

RTF may be your best bet because the Word program will need to have WPS filters installed to correctly save as a Works document.

Afterwards, you can open the files in Works then save them again, but this time in the Works format. You may have to make modifications to the documents before saving because some Word formatting may be lost by saving in another format.

If the file is saved as a .DOC rename the file extension to .RTF. Works will recognize the .RTF format.

you can pdf it - you have to command it to pdf every sheet in the file and not just the one you are on ... it should do it all and you should have 18 pages of pdf ... worked for me ...otherwise export it to word ?

Don't bother with Works.

Openoffice.org has everything, (and more!) than you will probably ever need. It's free and excellent.
