We usually have very cool (40ish) mornings, and the days heat up to a very nice 60ish. Winters are not harsh here, even on the very cold days. We tend to think 30 degree weather is a hard winter!

If you are planning to visit, bring a coat and sweaters for the mornings and evenings, and a light jacket and sweaters for the afternoon.

I love our winters in southern Louisiana! It is a break from the stifling heat, but not cold enough to make it miserable!

The weather in New Orleans in November can be very variable, but is generally quite mild and pleasant. Other than the occasional cool front, which can bring in rains and lows in the 40s, average november days are generally sunny and around 60-65 degrees. I can remember wearing shorts on Thanksgiving Day, though, due to the unseasonably warm temps.

You've probably heard the saying, "If you don't like the weather in Louisiana, just wait a minute...."

November and December are generally great in New Orleans.

There are no tropical storms.

It can still be very warm, but generally it's sweater weather. If it is warm you will have afternoon thundershowers, that go away quickly.

Now that I said this, it will probably snow! Hate being a weatherman!

It usually turns rather chilly and windy about mid-November, but as the others said, at least we don't have to worry about hurricanes and tropical systems at that time of year, as it's about over by then.
