I don't believe that global warming caused by people so there i have a reason to change.
To Stephen L
Humans do create air pollution and other environmental situations. Even though it doesn't create global warming. The problem with crazy people is how they want to handle the situation. they want to create the largest tax burden in the world and teach us that it's wrong to be alive because we have an environmental impact on this world. and then force us to live in trees. The belief is wrong. President Bush was right when he explained that it's through economics and technology, that progress is made.
It's UNBELIEVABLE the ideas these crazy people make for us. the 50 cents gas tax. how about that lawsuit that just ended. 4.5 billion? that's insane.

The main reason is the example you just gave.
It is hard to carry the burden of putting out less pollutants and use "green" items/habbits when you know that no matter how much you cut out of your own lifestyle, you're only helping the situation a fraction of a fraction of a percent.
Furthermore, while o-zone generation is a relatively quick effect, there are humungous weak-spots now, especially at the earth's poles that make the situation "hey if we stop now they can start repairing themselves..." The fact is it's already too late up there for the most part and we're going to be seeing much more ice melting even if greenhouse gas and ozone eating emissions are cut to 0.
Sort of like going on a diet, the fact that the results do not happen immediately but take dedication even through a period where one's weight actually gets worse makes diets very hard to stick to.
For manufacturing companies, some of the worst polluters out there, the fact is that many do not have the ability to revamp their whole factories and remain competative with othe companies that do not do the same. They will incur extra costs while their competators do not, and therefor their prices will go up and not many people will want to buy from them.
The term global warming, however, is in my opinion an over-generalized nonsense term that just gives morons ranting on about whatever they want a chance to attatch their arguement to something that invokes previous prejudices.
Global warming is happening, but ozone depletion has been cut dramatically in the last decade. Greenhouse emissions over the united states have cut drastically in the last 5 years, and Al Gore made a dumb little movie. The world might be warming, but hey, maybe we're coming out of an Ice-Age (that's the general scientific theory), or maybe we've just cut down too many trees and pissed off Jesus. Who knows!?
The real answer here is that instead of using such broad terms as "stop global warming," real initiatives like the Montreal Protocol that pinpoint real threats the the environment and give solveable problems with realistic goals need to be set.
Just saying "stop global warming" is like saying "i think I'll lose a little weight": there is no goal so there is no track to stick to, no goal to work for, and no reason to continue past your first, initial motivation.

Change is hard, and we humans are creatures of routine, yet in fact many of us have made changes in our lifestyles, en masse.
Here is Australia the following changes have been adopted by large numbers of people.:
Recycling paper and plastics
Using re-useable shopping bags
Sharing cars to work (actually incentives to do this because some roads will only allow 2+ people cars in express lanes)
Using energy efficient lightbulbs
Collecting grey water for garden.
Home insulation which reduces electricity consumption.
In fact the whole argument that people aren't changing is often used BY people who aren't changing to depress the rest of us, and to stop themselves feeling guilty.
One person does make a difference, and there are a lot of us out there! We may not be able to prevent the changes that are happening, but by adopting our lifestyles, we do stand a better chance of slowing them down and surviving the world we will be faced with as those changes hit home.
In summary, the biggest excuse people make for not taking action - is the phrase "nobody is taking action"

Scientist have proven that GW is a natural trend. I don't believe it is caused by humans. If it were caused by humans, it would be a global concern. The actions taken by the US would have no effect globally. GW has become a political issue manipulated, behind the scene, by large petroleum companies to increase profits.

It's utterly amazing to me that people are saying here that global warming isn't caused at least partially by human activity. How about air pollution? Is that also not caused by human activity? In answer to your question, on an individual level, people are generally lazy about things like recycling, and are resistant to changes that effect life-style (e.g. buying a smaller, lighter, less powerful car).

One volcanic eruption puts more CO2 into the atmosphere then the entire history of mankind ever did. Man only contributes about .03% of total carbon emisions. The rest are natural. So please stop with all this global warming crap. There isn't anything we can do about it. Another Ice Age will eventually come. People are so stupid!!!!!

And no she did no longer help this AGW bollox, yet another city delusion, instead she warned there grow to be a socialist time table to apply it (the myth) to scouse borrow wealthrom the wealthy and supply it to the damaging, who will on the instant spend it in Paris on whores and Rolls Royces. I am watching the great leaders of the cause to see how they change their lifestyles and I'll just try to do what they do. I have a hard time keeping up with their extravagance though.
