Firstly, i don't wanna hear "ignorant" and "intolerant of religion", since this is the only argument most Christians can provide when debating on topics of religion. Now, what are the reasons you are a Christian?? Please share, but be honest, and no fairy tale stuff, like "god spoke with me in my dreams"

I don't. I used to think I did, then I opened my eyes and stopped following blindly.

Reasons I believe

1. I grew up in Montana, I look at the mountains, rivers, trees and all the beauty of nature and I see there had to be a creator. All this beauty could not happen by accident.

2. I believe in my heart that if there is a God he is a loving God but the church is presenting a mean spirited God to me.

3. I pray and ask God to show me he is real, nothing happens.

4. When I am 19 years old I have a rollover car accident in which I say Help me Jesus because I see I'm going over a cliff and my car rolls end over end 2.5 times, is completely CRUSHED and I am not injured except a couple lost teeth and a few stitches.

5. I ask God to talk to me or reveal himself to me, nothing happens.

6. I am 25 years old, living with a man I married who promised to love me who is out drinking, partying and spending all our money on drugs while I am pregnant with our son and have a daughter..........and so one night I hear Billy Graham preaching just give your heart to Jesus so I do becuase I realize God can't bless me if I have not let him adopt me as HIS CHILD. Until I do let him adopt me I am satan's child.

7. After I got saved in 1987 every prayer I prayed has been answered. Funny thing is I don't pray for things that are not God's will because I am now his child, my heart is new, I don't want what he does not want for me. But I have seen 100's of answered prayers.

8. I have seen evidence for 20 years of how different my life is now.........and I'm telling you.......there is supernatural JOY and peace and Love that God puts in you..........things that people try to "get" by being drunk or partying so attain some Euphoria........God gives you those things without side effects and it costs you nothing because his love and kingdom is free you just have to receive it by faith what he did for you on the cross.

9. I have watched God transform and change lives of other people because they received Jesus as Lord and Saviour.

Why be so harsh! Some Christians are intolerant but not most unless you can also say all atheists are intolerant. It just isn't fact. As for why do I believe? Because He has placed Himself firmly in my heart. It's not something you can understand I guess until you open up yours and allow Him inside.

Because it is my right and I can. Faith is an interesting thing. It has gotten me thru some very hard times. God never spoke to me in my dreams, but he made me a believer when I saw my daughter for the first time. If that wasn't a miracle, I don't know what is.

Call it what you will, but I believe, I guess mostly, because I was raised to believe it. But also, I feel like it is just as easy to believe as the alternatives. I don't think there is enough proof that it isn't true to change my presuppositions.
