They are in the same class and ride the same bus and my son sits in front of him.

It is just really frustrating because all the authority figures blow bullying off like its no big deal and won't return my phone calls.

READ THIS. Bullying is NOT smiled upon at all. Bring this to the attention of his bus driver, teachers, and go as HIGH as you can go with this.

It would help to know the ages of both boys.

I hate to say it, but really the only way to stop a bully from bullying you is to let him know it's unacceptable. Your kid has to stand up and let it be know that he will NOT be bullied. Bullies only pick on kids who don't have confidence. It's more psychological than physical.

Believe me, I know how difficult this is. I have an 8-year-old son who likes books and feats of engineering, and his head is always in the clouds. I knew once I sent him to Kindergarten and compared him objectively to the other boys.

We ended up enrolling him in tae kwon do to not only build his self-confidence but also his self-discipline. A few months after he started, I looked out the window into our backyard and saw a bully from the neighborhood run up and put his hands around my son's throat like he was going to choke him. My son calmly reached up and threw two blocks (right, left) and took a proper defensive posture. The bully kid stepped back in admiration. I never once saw him touch my kid again. They weren't friends, but my son had earned respect and he was never bullied by that kid again.

But there are other boys who will try to hassle a kid like mine. He's gone through it a couple of times -- it would be worse if he wasn't going to a private school, where the classes are smaller and the kids are taught to treat each other as brothers and sisters.

well it matters what he is doing?

He's a bully, obviously..

but does he just razz him, tease him.. or is he beating him up? is he being harrasssed?
is it a just the one kid or a bunch?

it matters how far you want to take it, but i would find out where the kid lives and talk to his parents, after talking to the teachers/principle at the school..

But I have to tell you i know things might be different now, but when i was in grade school 25 years ago..i was picked on all the time, I just had no self esteem, and i told everyone and it made no difference at all, nothing was done to ever remedy the situation.. I ended up toughing it out and everything turned out OK..

good luck with your situation.

Notify the school and have the bus driver more your son at the opposite end of the bus......
If it keeps on go to the principal of the school and complain....if it keeps on talk to a lawyer.....This is disturbing your childs education......it needs to stop.....Make an appointment with the child's parent's and the principal of the school...

When you see the bully and his parents together asked to have a word with them but make sure your son is there and discuss the situation. If nothing gets resolved then talk to the principal ang get him/her involved.
