Wow... Lame stuff here.
Technological advances and evolution are about asd far apart as you can get. You're not comparing apples to oranges, you're comparing apples to dung beetles.
Lets see if i understand you. Jules Verne's predictions prove that evolution is impossible because he foresaw our future just a century or so ago? Therefore disproving the fact that all species adapt and change over the course of millions of years.
Oh Yeah!!!! Good argument.. good argument.

I guess you have no idea what evolution is. It is not some magic force that slowly changes things. There is nothing in the theory of evolution that says that a person cannot be smarter or more imaginative than other people.
I can see what you are doing. You are frantically grabbing at straws because deep down inside you know that evolution is right and creation is wrong. The walls are closing in. You are panicking. That is the only possible explanation for such goofy arguments against evolution.

Some time around the 1970's a guy took an ancient Greek artifact, that had been sitting in a museum for decades at that point, and did a series of x-rays on it. They knew there was brass in it, but it was encrusted with coral and had been pulled out of the Agean Sea. It was tested many differnt times and determined that it was 3000 years old or more. He drew out the brass wheels his x-rays showed and put them together as indicated in his x-rays. It was an astrological clock that showed the movements of ALL the planets, even those which cannot be seen without a large telescope. Even Pluto which was not discovered until 1926. All of this was created 1000 years bofore Christ. The firey chariots in the old testament were not fun stories. We are not alone. We never were.

Where did you get that idea about evolution? Evolution is neither goal driven nor does it claim a scale or pace for human intelligence. In fact, there was almost certainly a qualitative shift that accompanied the ability for language (abstract and symbolic thought).
As for Verne, writers have always taken the science of their day and wondered ‘what if’. Besides, Verne was hardly accurate in ‘seeing’ the center of the earth and he was way off on time travel. Time travel, even if possible, is restricted by the limitation that backward travel to a time before the time machine was created is not theoretically possible.

There is absolutely no relevance of Jules Verne's creativity and any argument about evolution.
Verne was a smart guy who saw that certain things would be very likely to be developed in the upcoming years.
Here, I can do it, too. How about a story that includes perennial food grains, like corn that grows back after it's been harvested, and doesn't have to be replanted every year?
"Artificial muscles," made of synthetic fibers that expand or contract when a difference of potential is imposed across them, thereby making ropes that crawl, self-actuating gates, suits that enable their wearers to run at 60 mph and pick up loads of 800 pounds.
Having an active and intelligent imagination is part of being human -- in some cases. People have had such talents (developed after many millions of years of evolution from more primitive species) for thousands of years.

Jules Verne also predicted that Paris would become a dystopia by the end of the 20th Century with all literature out of print. That didn't happen. What has Jules Verne go to do with evolution, anyway?

It's possible, there's a few out there, who don't, but since atheists don't believe in the creation of everything by some god, evolution is the only other major answer on the table. I guess someone could believe, everything was put here, as is by aliens, or something. Also, evolution, and natural selection aren't actually the same thing. The idea of natural selection was replaced by the theory of evolution.

Imagination. Just like Star Trek is responsible for cell phones and desk top computers. Jules Verne had a great imagination. I'm not an atheist and I believe in evolution.

I am sorry, but I am unable to follow any line of reasoning in your questions. Are you asking if Jules Verne shows that human intelligence is evolving too quickly? Or are you saying that science and predictive fiction are like myth and magic?

Most Atheist come from a position of seeing is believing and give me proof for me to consider... the problem with creationist leading the debate of evolution is that the seek to start the argument on what can not be proven.... such as the origins of the earth and as the big bang theory began, they began the argument with the origins of the universe... It's simple they cheat... evolution can be proven.. if the discussion begins with something simple... the evolution of spiders and ants is a great place... these are clear examples as their living links all still exist... In matters of debate we should never allow christians to lead the way, for their purpose is only to mislead and mis guide.... to say that a human is an atheist because they have blind faith in science as religions have blind faith (they need blind faith to believe such lies) is erroneous. I beleive the purpose of atheist is to provide the world with objective observers
