Never! Some of our meds will kill animals - go to the vet to be sure you are getting the right stuff.

NO! Do not give him human dewormer!
Your best bet would be to take him to your Vet so that he can determine exactly what type of worms that your Rottie has.
You can purchase dewormers at your local pet supply store and any discount department store and even some grocery stores. They don't work as well as the stuff the Vet gives them because the Vet gives them a prescription strength and the grocery store brand cannot dispense that strength. You will probably have to use the store dewormer 3 or 4 times before the worms disappear that is if they are the type of worms that the grocery dewormer works on..

Glucosamine/chondroitin supplements for dogs don't really follow any strict rules. That is, there's no fixed amount that a dog of a certain size should have.. Someone I greatly respect has recommended 1200-1500 mg of glucosamine and 500-600 mg of chondroitin for giant breeds like Mastiffs, so I think that 900 mg would be fine for a large breed.. Though, 900 mg of what? 900 mg of glucosamine and 900 mg of chondroitin? If it's the latter, the ratio isn't ideal, so I'd probably hold off on buying them in favor of something more balanced. You can absolutely use human supplements, but not all of them work properly. If you choose to buy them, before you give one to your dog, try dropping it in a glass of warm water.. If it starts to noticeably break up within twenty minutes, it's good enough for Chuckles. (As dogs have much shorter digestive tracts than us humans, you need to make sure that the pill will dissolve quickly enough. If it doesn't start to break up within twenty minutes, chances are that most of the pill will pass right through the dog's system because he won't have time to digest it properly.) By the way, so you know, shellfish-based glucosamine supplements are generally higher quality than plant-based ones, so check the label for that.

Absolutely not. And just what type of pill is out there to deworm humans?
An animal supply store will sell dewormers for your poor dog.

Is the dog a human? No? Well then the answer is no. Humans and dogs require different dosages, and metabolize things differently. Never give human meds to a dog.

It depends on the ingredients. What is the name of the drug? Also, what type of worms does the dog have? If you have pyrantel and the dog has tapeworms,it's not going to work!
