What is the biggest dog of the German Shepherd line recorded? Does anyone know of any that are bigger than this one? -- http://druglibrary.org/chopper -- 170 pounds.

Note to answerers. It is out of the German Shepherd line. I am interested in any from the German Shepherd line. I have heard tales of bigger ones, but never seen one myself, or any firm documentation for one. I don't doubt anyone who says they have seen bigger ones, I would just like to see some myself.

If the question doesn't interest you, why did you read it? Moreover, why did you waste your own time responding?

For those who are trying psychoanalyze the world from about two sentences, take my word for it, you are wrong on all counts. Don't give up your day job to go into psychiatry just yet.

Didn't you read the article? Or were you just impressed by the pic and couldn't wait to get it out there? That's not a GSD, its a Shiloh Shepherd. And I've seen and met in person a REAL GSD bigger than him :P

Edit:
I apologize for the rude answer. Bad day at work :) The one I know lives up north in the town were I go fishing at. He is owned by the people who also own the little towns "Trading Post"...his name is Brutus and he weighed 182lbs the last time I saw him. He was the biggest dog I've even seen, no joke, is about the size of a Mastiff, and is a full blooded GSD. The first time I saw him from afar...I thought he was a donkey. Wish I had a pic...sorry.

Akita's are bigger, the ones I had were males over 150 pounds. They will get along as they grow up together but you'll want to get them fixed anyways. Male Akita's don't necessarily get along with other male dogs but both are very trainable. I think German Shepherds are more popular.

No Coxer - likely we all care about as much as you :) Most people that are fixated on bigger is better stuff do so because of a lacking of sense of self. We have those sorts in our breed as well - the kind that want 'king' or 'goliath' or 'supersize' dogs... hahaha For some reason people think if they have a big dog it means something BIG about them :) when the opposite is actually true...
