I need to be off work in January and I need to find short term disability that will cover my surgery and a pre-existing injury

You are talking about 2 different kinds of insurance, short term disability only pays your wages while off work, health insurance pays your medical bills. I agree with the other answerer's, you are pretty much out of luck. You may need to apply for your states medicaid if you need surgery. You don't say if you are employed now. if you are, you should see if Short term disability is a coverage available from your employer

Disability has a waiting period of 90 days from date of signature. Also if you have already had an injury, it would be excluded from the policy, IF you are accepted.

You're asking, "what company can I give $100 to now, in exchange for them paying my $5000 medical bill in January?"

I don't think you're going to find a company that will make that deal.

No such thing. You're planning on having surgery? that's a pre existing condition and no company would write such a policy.

AFLAC, I just got them, they should cover it.
